Motion Tools 1.1
Project moved to GitHub in Jul 2017 --- Motion Tools is a small collection of tools that aims to aid Motion Graphic work being
created inside Softimage. The idea is to create a workflow for the creation, distribution
and animation of instances as intuitive as the ones found in comercial solutions.
Since it is created ontop of ICE the tools have speed and combustibility considerably
superior to similar solutions.
Demo video available here. For demos of the previous beta versions, see here vor v0.1, here for v0.2 and here for v0.3.

Thanks so much for this. I'll be using this in my testing of the Mitsuba exporter. Its gonna be super-easy to setup particle test scenes now.
Post us some images when you do ;)

Re: Motion Tools 1.0
i have a small error while trying to do a simulated ice tree. not sure why i get it. when i select the texts like in your video, i then apply the create instances from islands, then simulate always. and i get theses warning and errors.
not sure what the problem might be.

Re: Motion Tools 1.0
Yes, bouuuh MentalRay... PS: LK Lightning do MB do it so i've looked at it but i don't find this stuff in the tree, maybe it's hard coded...gustavoeb wrote:This is a good time to put this up the priority list and find a decent workaround for the time being... thanks for bumping on this
Re: Motion Tools 1.0
From your log I can see PolyIsland_Control (the pointcloud) was deleted. This should not be done...angelous4x wrote:SelectObj "PolyIsland_Control", , True

You gave to create intace from islands and with PolyIsland_Control selected run "Simulate Always"
The "****Cycke breaking point" thing wont go away, but it seems to be no biggy
hope it works for you now

Re: Motion Tools 1.0
Hello Gustavo, thank you again for this addon.
Have one question, is there a way to change the pivot position of the elements, when using the create instances from islands?

Re: Motion Tools 1.0
Hi Giorgio! The base shapes (cube, cone, sphere, etc...) cant have theyre pivot change, but you can just enable instancing and use a custom shape (cube, cone, sphere, etc...) with a modified pivot.
As for instances from islands, this cannot be done, yet... but it has already been added in the to-do list

Re: Motion Tools 1.0
First off, thank you so much for for creating and sharing this tool. It has been very easy for me to get non-tecnical artists who have barely touched Softimage to make some great looking stuff using 'Motion Tools'.
FYI: I did, however, have to hack in the version 0.4 "Modify and Modulate Particles Orientation" into the "Modify Transform" In order to get the Additive option to work properly.

Re: Motion Tools 1.0
Hey i.animator, great to hear that do you have any images you can share?
Good thing ice is open for hacks, what exactly was the problem? Is it fixed in v. 1.0?
Cheers
