new emFlock2 version: emFlock2 v.2.3

Post by Mootzoid » 08 Jul 2012, 14:20

Hi there!

A new version of emFlock2 is available. It is version 2.3 and its main new feature is the so-called "Evolution" feature. This feature is an enhancement for emFlock2's flying. With it one can make particles fly and land on objects in a specific order (e.g. from bottom to top).

There also is a traditional little release video that was made to test the new feature "in vivo".

Here some screenshots of the video:

The video itself:

And finally a link to emFlock2's web page:

Take care!
Eric

Do you still work on those new plugins that show up into your website by the way?

Yes, of course!

Here is the rough plan for the next weeks and months:

Today I'll make a video tutorial for the new emFlock2 "Evolution" thing.
After that I will be working on emPolygonizer4 which should be released in August.
Once emPolygonizer4 is done I will fully concentrate on emFluid5. Latter will be shown on the Softimage Übertage by the way. It is too early to say when emFluid5 will be releases, but it should be before the end of the year. emFluid5 is not just an upgrade, but an entirely new plugin started from scratch.
And after that I'm not quite sure what I will do, but it will probably be emVolume.

Cheers,
Eric

PS: I'm also working on a plugin for Modo by the way ;)

Nice. Thanks for the information and the reply. I/We are looking forward to all those nice stuff you got. (you forgot to mention emTree ;)
I am not using modo per se, but a lot of people surely do and wish you great success in that one
Best of wishes.

apropos Modo:
My first plugin for Modo will be sort of a geometry cache reader that supports Wavefront .obj, RealFlow .bin and of course the emPolygonizer formats .emp2 and .mzd. Furthermore it will have a few simply deformer and manipulation options.
The idea for that plugin came from one of my customers. His company uses Softimage to create scenes, animations, etc., however they use Modo for the rendering. The renderer in Modo indeed seems to be quite good I must say.

apropos emTree:
aw, that poor old emTree. You know, that is one of my "darling projects", but for diverse reasons I just never find the time to work on it. Hopefully when emPolygonizer4, emFluid5 (and possibly emVolume) are done I will be able to work on emTree again. It sure is in desperate need of love ,)
