Thanks for the tip ;)
Anyone got in running properly? Auto install didn't work, no priviledges etc.. After installing manually, it quickly updates the model inside an open SI, but after that always starts a new instance of Softimage with an empty scene.

The auto-install gave me the same error, but after manually installing the .addon everything is working as expected. No multiple instance if Softimage.

Same here. Autoinstall is being blocked no matter what. Manual goes smoothly, though.
Did just a few quick tests. Works perfectly so far!
Big, massive thanks to the author!!!

But as far as I can tell, "they" just made the plugin mentioned in the first post the "official" GoZ for Softimage, or am I mistaken and is this something new?

Probably
At least it's official now. This is very good news for a lot of users I'd say.
I haven't heard anything about the send/get functions of Mudbox lately. I know there were some UV issues. Anybody know if those been fixed?

I wonder if there's a way to get this to work with Sculptris (without having Zbrush). Anyone know?

No, it can not. It lays on top of Zbrush API.
