Allows to quickly merge objects respecting hierarchy and enveloping. Video introduction. Details from the si-community thread (link below):

An update to my old and simple mCombine tool. It merges, reparent, renames, matches center, copy animation, copy envelope, vertex colors, and re-paints weight colors (matching them to their bone color) [..] Custom Preference Menu: You can access this menu through the SI Preferences window, or by pressing ctrl or alt or shift and clicking in "m.Combine Polygons". It now also supports groups, layers and partitions.

You can also use it as a custom command: mCombine ( objects, tolerance, moveCenter, copyAnimation, Gator, ReColor )

Ex: mCombine ( "cube, cube1", 0.1 , true, false, true, true ). It will merge cube with cube1 with a weld tolerance of 0.1, move the center to match cube1 center, it won't copy any animation even if cube1 is animated, it will acquire cube1 properties like envelope and vertex colors through gator and it will re-color points and weight maps to match their deformers wire colors.

An update to my old and simple mCombine tool.
It merges, reparent, renames, matches center, copy animation, copy envelope, vertex colors, and re-paints weight colors (matching them to their bone color). You have 2 options, one with weld tolerance 0.001 and one with 0. You could change the default values by editing the plugin function. Maybe I'll add a custom preference next time.

You can also use it as a custom command:
mCombine ( objects, tolerance, moveCenter, copyAnimation, Gator, ReColor )

Ex: mCombine ( "cube, cube1", 0.1 , true, false, true, true )
It will merge cube with cube1 with a weld tolerance of 0.1, move the center to match cube1 center, it won't copy any animation even if cube1 is animated, it will acquire cube1 properties like envelope and vertex colors through gator and it will re-color points and weight maps to match their deformers wire colors.

Thanks for this tool myara !

I just test it and see you don't take care to Group, Partition and Layer of target object.
Did you plane to "merge" this properties later ?

Cheers.

I don't use partitions, but groups and layers sounds cool. I'll try to add those features soon. Thanks for your suggestion.

Had a few free minutes so I decided to give it a try, and ended up updating the addon.

Changes:

Tolerance 0 option deleted.
Now you have a custom preferences menu instead. You can access this menu through your Preferences panel or by pressing ctrl or alt or shift and clicking on "m.Combine Polygons"
Groups, Layers and Partitions now supported.

It seems that the Groups doesn't work.
I have 2 objects, one object by group, and after combine them all group are empty.

Otherwise Partitions and Layers works well !

I just checked my code from my iphone. It seems somehow I made an spell miss with groups. I'm quite sure it was working in my prototype snippet, I may have dragged it without noticing it.
Anyway, It's an easy fix so I'll fix it tomorrow when I get to my office.

Thanks for your feedback!
