2011SAP + 2011SP1 Hotfix 1

Post by Hirazi Blue » 04 Jan 2011, 17:26

A Hotfix for SI2011.5 has been released...
According to Stephen Blair:
This hotfix is really for people using Arnold.
The fixed issues were blocking people from using Arnold with 2011.

Available from the Subscription Center.
(And as you luceric points out in the next post: there's a hotfix for 2011SP1 as well)
Stay safe, sane & healthy!

Thanks for the info, from Stephen Blair's Support Blog I got the impression it was SAP only... ;)

I would assume you can export out cgfx or hsls and use that in Softimage.
But I haven't tried it yet myself.

Sorry to derail this topic once again (back to the hotfix itself, that is) ;)
Wouldn't this hotfix have made a nice addition to the Softimage Announcement RSS?

Hello Chaps,

So where did the SAP hotfix go? I visited the subscription center last night and it told me that it was unavailable due to site maintenance. I tried again this morning and now it tells me that the file has been moved, removed, or unavailable.

So this begs the question...where exactly do I obtain the hotfix?

Any ideas ??? :-)

I just tried it and after the second try I was able to reload the hotfix.
(The first try gave me a "valid" archive, but only containing the Linux-files 8-} )
I am not sure, however, how location dependent the Subscription Center is.
As you probably won't be able to reach anyone at Softimage HQ today, the best (if not most pleasant) advise seems to be: try again later...
In my experience Subscription Center hiccups do happen quite often, but they luckily mostly do not last all that long...

Hi Hirazi Blue,

No worries. Your advice is sound. I'll be patient and hope I can DL the file over the next day or two. No problemo.

To the AD/SI/web chaps:

</rant on>
Again, can we -for the love of whomever you worship- get a more coherent system for -ALL- updates regarding SI?

Now you have to hunt for several pages to find SP1's, SAP's, hotfixes (free -and -subscription) etc.
This tends to be massively confusing for everybody, and it's not very complex to put all links on one page.

For all updates shown on the page that fall under the 'maintenance regime', just add a link to the Subscription page. It also might have people reconsider getting 'maintenance' if they see some updates are worth it, like 2011.5 aka SAP.

Also, the fact why SP's don't show up on my Subscription page is still beyond me, even after some replies from SI people. How hard can it be to just add the link there as well?
I paid for the damn updates/versions, why do I have to hunt them down on the massively annoying AD website, even when I'm logged into my Subscription page??

</rant off>

Yes, have to agree...the AD site is an awful mess and an exercise in frustration for the end user.
