Hi everybody,
Welcome to the emRPC thread of this lovely community!
After many weeks of hard labour, annoying bugs, ups and downs, as well as hectolitres of coffee it's finally done: emRPC version 3.0 is released!
So what's new in this version? Here a list of the most interesting features:
new compounds
self-shadowing
OGL preview
strands
The entire list of new stuff is contained in the chapter "Version History" of the emRPC online documentation, here's the direct link: Complete Version History
Have a look at the first sneak preview video on Vimeo:
Okay, I admit, it's just one of my old emFluid2 scenes I recycled here, but the 1.500.000 self-shadowed particles as well as the shadows on the floor are entirely rendered by emRPC version 3.0. Here some specs: render resolution: 800x450 + anti-alias + self-shadowing + shadows on masks render time (per frame with an Intel i7): about 19 seconds

this is looking really really good.
loving the self shadowing. genius stuff.
so whats the plans next? i know some people have already done there own comps. but id like to see motionvector outputs and depth outputs built in. so different passes can be rendered, that would be nice.
hopefully il buy a copy soon to have a proper play.

Hi ximage,
Yes, concerning emRPC I got request for motion vectors, depth and motion blur from several people. I plan to implement those things, but not in the near future, as I have too many other things that need to be done first: emFluid3, an update of emPolygonizer and last but not least my next new plug-in.
