Hi.
Just noticed my rig's head was broken. I thought some of the things I had added to it broke it, but after a while of digging I noticed the problem is present in the basic man_guide that comes with GEAR.
When I set IK reference as local the head will stop following the body. But this only happens after restarting Softimage. Right after generating the rig, it works fine.
I'm using GEAR 1.1.0 and SI 2013 SP1

Does it help if you reload all modules (in the GEAR menu)? I wrote an event once to do this automatically (
here) to combat a different problem that stemmed from the fact that GEAR seems to forget to reload all its modules...
;)
Stay safe, sane & healthy!

Thanks for the reply. No, it doesn't seem to help :/
EDIT: Same problem with the chicken_guide.

I had similar (or the same) issue with Gear an year or so ago and when sent the file to Jeremie he kindly gave me a "fix" to it. I have lost those files with time, but I know I had them placed inside the main gear installation folder.
Since I don't know what those files were I zipped my entire
gear folder that resides inside the
modules folder, backup your original files and replace them with this folder and see it if still happens. The path should be this (I have mine on the root of C drive):
C:\PythonGEAR\modules\gear (last folder is the one to replace)
Hope it helps

Awesome, thank you Sil3! (And Jeremie too of course
)
After regenerating the rig everything seems to be working great.
It would be interesting to find out what the exact file was that caused the problem. But for now it's just nice everything working properly.

If I recall correctly I think it was one of the Constraint Scripts, if you have the time you can compare the installed ones with the folder I sent you and see which ones are different (by date maybe)

Hi Guys,
I have a problem related to the head. Rotating the "neck_C0_head_ctl" control scale down the head geometry. Is anybody experienced a problem like this?

Please download the image for better understanding the problem. I don't know why, but this animated gif doesn't appears good.
This is the rig that was built for this model:
