Id be happier with broad fixes and updates to existing features and fewer major additions. So much new tech out there to put in for things like dealing with UVs, rigging/animation, ICE.

90 Folks will have a preview at SIC in London on the 15th. Even with the NDA there hopefully should be some details coming through after that as and when Autodesk feels they are ale to let us know.

Personally I just hope for bugfixes, being able to use the stand alone licence that Maya uses in Linux and the eternally optimistic Mac version ;)

Call me an optimist. I don't believe Autodesk is that far removed from their user-base that all there will be no info apart from what is covered by the NDA. There are fine lines as Bellsy has said and then there are no lines.

@Bellsey - Our My Wishlist for Softimage... maybe 2013 ? thread was started even earlier, on the 19th of October 2011.
And, besides, you should know by now, every other thread on this little community can easily qualify as a wishlist thread or a cry for help (or often both).

Maybe it's because of the disappointment in the 2013 release and no SAP last year that people get nervous ;)

No SAP made me optimistic - oddly enough.
My optimism spurs from the fact that we (I) never seen the new team in action and whatever is new has a 50% chance to be good. I'm not insinuating that the old team was bad, LOL, they made Softimage a cool s/w that we know it to be, but they're getting older and maybe their enthusiasm and main concern was not for Softimage any longer, but for better positions and salaries which is understandable.

I feel exactly the same - a new user team and therefore some new eyes looking at the code might shed some light on long-standing issues. I also think that not rushing a SAP release was a smart move.
