I can promise you there will be some pretty impressive, BIG features in 2014 so hang in there....and as far as I know SAP releases will resume again after this year. Im really impressed with the Singapore team, some very talented people are anxious to prove themselves!!

Crowds were pretty big feature for 2013. Someone used it? I mean, in production scenario?

Re: any news about Softimage 2014 ???
I think modo and cinema showed how some basic or advanced sculpt capabilities is a boost in everyday workflow (Cinema sculpt is very close to mudbox and has great performance). I prefect know zbrush and mudbox are the kings of the hill, but integrated sculpt into a traditional poly modelling tool set is not aimed to replace application like zbrush.omidkurd wrote:i need somethin SI 2013 havent but max and maya have

So I quote you wish (but I think this never happen...
In any case the new team is totally unknown and might surprise us (in positive or negative)

I would settle for just a smooth brush, i can do many "sculpt-like" things with the move tool + proportional modelling but i really often miss a smooth/relax brush to clean up the mess i've made.
Not that i expect that to be added by AD but some cool coder might one day do it!

Re: any news about Softimage 2014 ???
XSI has just in it some sculpt capability, like the Move component tool + Proportional and push operator+weight map. I'm not a coder, but don't think must be so complex doing in softimage some basic sculpt tools. Softimage is just a great modelling tools, is one of the best modelling tools I ever tried, and all this tools was created years ag (applaud the wise developers)
I'm curious how work inside AD, who make decision about new feature or development for an application?
never touched...Crowds were pretty big feature for 2013. Someone used it? I mean, in production scenario?

ad has to deliver. i mean he has to say that because si has now a different team, no sap this year and the big layoff.Nizar wrote:I can promise you there will be some pretty impressive, BIG features in 2014 so hang in there....and as far as I know SAP releases will resume again after this year. i dont like statements like this after what happens the last couple of mounths. not because of ad but in general. it feels like,"guys, we are working on the product and it will be great no matter of the problems we had". a tech vid of new stuff would be better in such a situation.

That you know of. Not everyone using it will post it to this forum or can yet as they are possibly currently using it in a production. - 2 cents.iamVFX wrote:Oh, ok, fare enough. I guess Crowds are good, but still... Not that many people uses it...

Possibly features of 2013 releases were useful for so many customers that revenue from the Media and Entertainment business segment down 10% from a year ago. Or it's a bad luck, of course. You know, solar eruptions and stuff.EricTRocks wrote:That you know of. Not everyone using it will post it to this forum or can yet as they are possibly currently using it in a production. - 2 cents.
