Looking forward to that!

You're not waiting for "next gen" tools, you're making them! :-bd

We're way too easy to please...
One mention of Softimage in an Autodesk infographic and all's well again...
:D

edit: this is meant as a joke, hence the big grin smilie...

Nice graph. Indeed it is nice to see SI in there. Ironically, they seem to have forgotten their own "Flame" package in the compositing section. It used to be a big deal but maybe not anymore. Combustion and Inferno seem to be gone completely.

This was one of the things I was aluding too when I mentioned about the change in marketing to be less product focuses and instead be more about industries, solutions and pipelines. With this change, there's no reason why Softimage wouldn't be in there. That diagram isn't exactly new, its been around for some time now. The 'Modernise Your Pipeline' was in sync with Suites, which is why the finishing products like Flame are not on there.

The Creative Finishing products Flame and Smoke are still going strong though. Combustion was retired in 2007 (I think). Inferno is still around but with products like Flame Premuim, you kinda have Flame, Flare and Lustre in one, so you get more bang for your buck.

That's good to hear. I just haven't heard much about it recently but it always looked interesting.
