On Area. Now I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I seem to be unable to reply or open a new thread so I thought this must be it. Plus the recent clinch I had with a moderator. :D
His user name is Steve_Curley.

Now why I'm telling you this? I want to hear other people opinions on a few matters, not to get reassurance that I was right or I did the right thing (which I don't believe I did nor care that much).
In the wip section of Mudbox forum there is a post called "First Project Ever" from a guy with a total post of 1. I replied to that by telling the guy that he firstly should post smaller pictures and secondly that he should refrain from posting at all - here is my mistake, I should had added "this kind of pictures", because that was my intention anyway. I also asked him if he's ten and closed with "I smell troll" or something like that.

And here's where Mr Steve comes in and tells me that it is me the one that I should refrain from posting offensive and/or inflammatory remarks and sent me to reading the forum rules. Then he sends me a PM in which he tells me that my account is "on watch" or something in those lines and I can get banned whenever I step on the offensive tail of Mr Steve. Like in a police state. I get pissed when people are behaving like they have to show that the authority they've been invested with is used and not rotting of inactivity. This kind of power hungry though weak people become cops that will beat and abuse people because they know no other way of showing their presence.

Almost every person that has a little education (at least a high-school) knows that laws are made as objectively and clear as possible. Definitions are often given to explain some terms used in the law text. In our case "offensive" is a term which has not been explained. Offensive to whom? Because I got no reaction from the thread creator (who is a definitely a troll).
I sent him back a pretty immature and truly offensive this time (dropped the F bomb at the end) PM which probably caused my suspension.
We know almost no one on the forums and people behave differently behind the protection of their relative anonymity, but when you're a "political correct" prick and don't give a crap about it is true or right just to have a place where nobody fights nobody you won't get a mature treatment from me.

Look at the state in which Europe has become. The slutty politicians are constantly chopping off our rights in the name of security, peaceful cohabitation and multiculturalism. I'm all over those, but not for the price we're paying now and people minds should adjust a little to understand and accept that you cannot be safe and free in the same time. We must reach a good in between value, but right now I'm afraid that we care a lot more for "safe" than "free".
This is an open forum, so Mr Steve, if you're a member drop by and tell us your story.
Peace! :ymhug:

He's a moderator on Area. That's all I know about him and frankly don't care. I don't mind being deprived of something I used to do a few times year - posting on Area lol :ymdevil:
I do mind when I'm being told to shut my pie hole or else.

I have checked with some people and the person mentioned is just a forum moderator, but not an actual Autodesk employee.

Personally, from the way to describe the timeline of events and the behaviour and nature of your posts and personal messages, then I am not surprised you have been suspended. However, we don't have the other persons side of events.

So you think if you'd have the other side of events maybe you would be surprised that I've been suspended?
What is the behaviour and nature of my posts?

Who knows, but there's always two sides to every story.

Well you have openly admitted to basically replying to the original post in a less than polite way and then posting to the moderator in way that was "pretty immature and truly offensive".

Ok, I understand that you're not surprised, but do you consider I deserved to be suspended?

I can't really answer that question, because I don't have all the facts and details. I merely said that if you exhibited a certain level of behaviour, then I'm not surprised some action was taken, but whether you should of depends on the details of the 'evidence' (for want of a better word.

Well I'm not surprised either that you won't answer straight to my question. After all, corporations care more about "polite" than "truth".
Oh of course you're not representing Autodesk now - or do you? - but merely expressing your personal opinion.
I have a friend that works for a big corporation and I know what training you receive there over the years and how it alters ones character. There are good aspects to that of course, but the bad ones are clear, at least for me.

So in the light of the above said, shouldn't the "truth" weigh more then "polite"?
I guess not, when tons of money are involved. As I said, most probably you won't get a dime from this, but it's the PR training you receive over the years that makes you avoid fights at all costs. It's bad for the image, thus for the pockets.
And let me make a statement very similar to yours, after all we're all entitled to an opinion:
Personally, from the way you prioritize ""truth" and "politeness", I am not surprised you are working for Autodesk. How's that sounding? Hm, not polite I guess. ;)

I'm sorry I couldn't answer your question. The simple fact is that I haven't seen or read any of your posts and replies you mention, so I can't really make any kind of 'call', can I, or can I?
I haven't agreed or disagreed with you and I'm not judging you unfairly either. Personally I don't like to make decisions like this without knowing all the facts, surely that's the best way to be fair isn't it?

But to be honest McNistor, this is the problem with writing on online forums. Some things can be read the wrong way, and often it can be better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt. :)
