I really never wished dev. resources would go to something like this. But after you see what MS is cooking for Windows 8 you will understand why will want to switch to a MAC also.
And they had us believing they were going the right way with windows 7, fools...

Really? You're switching based on some beta screenshots.....

You know the saying about the grass being greener and such, but the latest releases of OSX aren't really compelling to move over either.

Just wait and see, and in the meantime there are plenty of powerful explorer replacements out there, like XYPlorer for one.

You do know you don't -have- to use the defaults that come with Windows if it doesn't suit your workflow ;)

Edit: After watching the video in the blog I don't see your issue here. Despite discussions on the ribbon being evil or not, there's a lot of stuff in there that makes life easier. I like what they're doing, it's just evolving the explorer.
My only gripe is -still- no tabs for multiple folderviews. But that's where XYPlorer is good at, amongst other things. :)

Here's a thought. If you don't like Win8 when it comes out don't use it?

LW had both versions and it was terrible. Always wasting time working out bugs on two OS's. Terrible waste of resources which contributed to their lagging development. On either OS, you would click a button and SI would load so who cares? Why spend precious resources changing to a MORE restrictive OS where we'd have to pay twice as much for the same hardware. Progress on SI would grind to a halt while they fiddled with porting it over and then it wouldn't be as stable for years. Look at Maya, they're still whining the the Mac version isn't as good or stable.

At least right now I can get up to date hardware for sane prices.

Also, if you don't like MS, there is Linux.

Not that AD cares but a big NO vote from me on that one.

Guys, I'm not SERIOUS about this... I also don't feel like dev resources should be spent on this.
Anyways, just expressing my feelings about windows 8 interface. I kind of had high hopes for that one since they did a good job with windows 7.

Sorry if that came out in a serious way... we can all move on now :)

New snap features look fantastic. I'll upgrade to win8 just for that.
