Is technically possible create something like EEVE in xsi vieport?

I'm not a programmer, but i'm curious: XSI have some possibity to customize viewports like eeve? I mean, creating some addon? Or this area of the program is "locked" ??

Thank you , just curious....

I think , in the current reality, this is not possible...
But i know that in XSI you can plug some "Custom Display" in viewport. Maybe this is the solution

This is how far you can push the high quality viewport in Softimage (I did the video review):
But it will often lead to crashes. Why? Such viewport must calculate some screen space representations.
And hence it need to "compile shaders on the fly" often bumping with other memory issues. The best thing is finish everything you need to "showcase" and save another file (still) to just configure it for showing your work. Rotate and zoom, you're done. Changing uvs: no-no. Editing polys: no-no. You get the idea.

Totally possible through CDH. (CDH, even the earlier display callback hooks, is one of the "golden thoughts of design" of XSI)
back in the days, even the CDH still buggy, I used to access to some of out sourcing works, that utilise CDH as a core tool for preview in game effects etc.

If blender separate the eeve engine as a stand along as cycle, maybe some one could port it to XSI.

If you only aim a certain effects in viewpoint, implement it is not that hard, the latency for access points, normals, points index, is not that slow also, cause they are already in memory.

I wish eevee could be ported to Softimage. Oh boy, that will breathe some awesome life into the software.

So let's hope blender.org let eevee become a standalone package first
