Installation of a modified version of Kim Aldis' Roadkill Exporter for the Autodesk ModTool
(Moderator edit: this procedure is specifically meant for the Mod Tool - HB)

Required downloads:
Python 2.6.2
Pywin32
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)
Roadkill RC3
Modified Roadkill Exporter

How to install Roadkill:
Unzip the downloaded RoadKill_1_1_RC3.zip
copy the directory "RoadKill_1_1_RC3" to "C:\"
it's important the path to Roadkill should read: C:\RoadKill_1_1_RC3\RoadKill 1_1\RoadKill1_1.exe
Now open the directory and start "RoadkillInstall.exe" to register Roadkill

How to install Python
Install "Python-2.6.2.msi" (RMB as Administrator)
Install "vcredist_86.exe" (RMB as Administrator)
Install "pywin32-212.win32-py2.6.exe"(RMB as Administrator)
Now when you start the ModTool you should find "Python ActiveX" as a scripting language under "File > Preferences > Scripting > Script Language"

Now you only have to install the modified Exporter. To do this drag and drop the Roadkill.xsiaddon into a viewport and restart the ModTool

Some video tutorials can be found on the Roadkill website at the bottom under "Movies!"

Please note: Navigation in Roadkill uses the "ALT"-key instead of the "S"-Key!

And before anybody asks: the regular unmodified Roadkill Plugin
and Roadkill RC3 in one easy zip file
are still available at rray.de in the local backup... ;)

Thank you for modifying Kim's plugin and sharing it with the Mod Tool using community, it will surely come in handy since the new Unfold property is missing from Mod Tool.

A quick note about the parts bolded in the quote above, if you used the installer(RoadKill Install.exe) provided in the RoadKill_1_1_RC3.zip download which installs the application to:
C:\Program Files\RoadKill
then you will need to change the path on line 86 of RoadKillPlugin.py to:
Code:
sPath = ("C:\Program Files\RoadKill\Roadkill1_1.exe");

the RoadKillPlugin.py file is located here(after installing Roadkill.xsiaddon):
C:\users\<username>\Autodesk\Softimage_Mod_Tool_7.5\Addons\Roadkill\Application\Plugins

Yes AceMastermind, that's right.
Find the file "RoadKillPlugin.py", RMB and choose in contex "Edit with IDLE" or "Edit with Pythonwin". Then scroll down in anywhere apps and change the path.
