Extracting Multiple Masks from a Single Constant Image?

Post by Rez007 » 28 Feb 2014, 23:39

I have a question that I am hoping someone can help me with. Is there a way in post (Softimage FX Tree) to either create or extract a mask from a single image of constant colors? More-or-less to isolate a constant color and generate a mask from that, all in post. I attached some simple references that I made quickly to give an example of what I am looking to do. I would need the mask to be crisp, as well. Sorry if it is an easy question, just drawing a blank...Thank You.

This is what 'keyers' usually do. Not sure but probably the FX Tree has such a node.

Color Key/Extract or Luminance key/Extract also works too no?

Ya FXTree keyer is -really- straight and simple, you can click on the color that you want to pick, and show the matte, and perhaps adjust ranges (in RGB or HSV) for the gradients or aliasing areas

( 1 keyer for each color)

Or a also, here you have 5 colors, but If you can settle for 4, you can put each tile in their own RGBA channel and have worry-free clean results.

Cheers
