Convert to MR material

Post by Judicator » 19 Jul 2013, 11:06

Ok, so I have a material I like but it's kinda slow. Ok, it's very slow.
Any suggestions how to make it work faster? Or to replace Lambert with any MentalRay material, while it still looks the same?
Tried different things - rendering time barely increased, and the result wasn't the same. It's simple with diffuse, but what about incandescence?

If you're not animating any of the parameters, why not "bake" it into a static texture map through Rendermap/Rendervertex?
Stay safe, sane & healthy!
