I had problems with this before but xsibase is gone so i can't find the solution back.
I want to texture something, let's say a sphere with the default texture.
I set the 3d view port to textured.
Add a sphere.
get > property > texture projection > spherical
I don't see it textured, unless i open the texture editor, than the 3d viewport start to show the texture...
why is this?
see the texture

Re: see the texture
Softimage does not know yet, the texture you want to apply on the projection. The workflow needs tweeking:
Apply a texture to the object(s) or polygon clusters
Open the texture editor
From the texture’s property editor, specify a projection for the texture.
If you do it the other way, you will have to select a texture and "assign" it to the projection.

Re: see the texture
These kind of basic tasks are covered in the online documentation.
- Open the Softimage User Guide (Help > User's Guide)
- In the Contents, expand Texturing (expand = click the + sign)
- Expand Applying and Editing Textures.
- Click Applying a Texture.
