hi

here too I have the same errors

a) ok
b) ok
don't work...
It is all correct (folder and all setting), but when I try to import mesh from zbrush I receive the message "GoSoftLite file don't exist!", and when try to export, compare a red message "can't create output file"
If I go in gosoftlitedata folder, I find the correct obj file created by zbrush (and can import in softimage)
It is strange it worked correctly and, after a crash with heavy mesh it don't work...
Folder path is:
c:\Program File (x86)\Pixologic\Zbrush 4.0\ZStartup\ZPlugs\GoSoftLiteData This is the correct folder, and this is the folder I wrote in Softimage|preference|Custom|GosoftliteSettings
In this folder Zbrush create the correct GosoftLite.OBJ (and .mtl) file

my mistake was the name of the file

C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush 4.0\ZStartup\ZPlugs\GoSoftLiteDataFolder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush 4.0\ZStartup\ZPlugs\GoSoftLiteData this is the proper name......I know :ymblushing: :ymblushing:

may be that your problem Nizar

now it`s working like a charm

thanks j3st3r nice job

-we read too fast
-copy and paste too fast
-In any case, It was my mistake

Actually GoZ and GoSoftimageLite is not for heavy meshes...I used to transfer at most 10-20k polygons, with no issue. You need to check the following stuffs:

a) In your ZBrush/ZStartup/ZPlugs folder there must be a GoSoftLiteData folder

b) In your Softimage File|Preferences|Custom there must be a GoSoftLitSetting pointing to your Zbrush root folder

If the above mentioned things are OK, GoSoftLite should work.

Now I try to solve multiple subtool exporting on the lowest level, it may take a while...

Hi Zossowosso
no, my folder is exact... I'm little embarrassed about, I'm sure it is a stupid error, but don't find where is... and cannot understood why the first time worked fine and after the XSI crash (with a heavy mesh XSI import) don't work.

hi Nizar

are you sur to use the right GoSoftLite.zsc if yes

I suggest you

uninstall the plug in softimage and delete the GoSoftimageLiteAddon foder in you user group or workgroup
delete the GoSoftLite.zsc in Zbrush folder

and start a new installation

may be ???

Hi, thanks Zossowosso.
I cancelled and unistall from zbrush and from XSI, repeat all the operation, and now work. But if I try a heavy mesh, XSI crash and stop working (for all the mesh, I must cancel again all and reinstall).

What is heavy mesh? How much polygons? Actually it uses the builtin OBJ importer, so you may try to import it via the Import OBJ menu in the File menu

mesh is 2.000.000 polygons. It is only a test, actually don't need. If I import like obj it work correctly (xsi can manage it)

No, zbrush don't give any error message

I'll check it. But the fact is that I call the ObjImport function which is the same as if you just use the File|Import|OBJ menu...

hi Nizar

for fun export from Zbrush your mesh 2.000.000 polygons normally in obj format and re-import the mesh in obj format in SI to see
'ERROR : 2011 - Unable to write well in English [CLSID\{F123FC55-ABD9-4D7F-9CDD-7F9D61E71FFE}] : %SUMATRAPATH%\ English.dll not found'
