warhammer 40k stuff
warhammer 40k stuff
Hi all,
I've never posted any work here before, so here comes the (unexpected) inquisition. Some of these are older, but I think they still look ok.
All done in softimage, everything is subdivision modeling, textured in mari, displacements, shapes etc, sculpted in mudbox, rendered in redshift, mostly on two machines in 2k ( but huge thanks to Mirko for the extra rendering power on 2 of the shots! ). This was the first time for me to rig something (after watching the softimage 7 certified training), so as you can imagine I've scratched my head a few times during the process But in the end it worked out. I'd rather list the things I didn't do : background behind the character was modeled by Veronika Nagy and Gergely Mihaly, and textured by Aniko Salamon. Animation of the armour was done by Robert Nagy, I only did the head/face ( 1st time I've animated anything, but the lack of softimage manpower in our area tide our hands ).
There are issues with the trailer, we know that, but we've learned and we will fix things for next time That monster for example is a half finished asset, animated in an hour, while I was tackling other shots, so apologies for that.. I'll ask if I can post work in progress stuff and test renders, and post it here later.
In the meantime here's a 2k version of the main character :
There are more ( and better quality images in the corresponding redshift forum here : https://www.redshift3d.com/forums/viewthread/5407/
Feel free to ask if you want

Re: warhammer 40k stuff
Wow impressive
Can you give a litl bit more insight on how you did the hexagons in DOF!?
is that a special bokeh image?
The level of detail is crazy!

Re: warhammer 40k stuff
Incredible modeling!

Awesome stuff in here!

Re: warhammer 40k stuff
Thanks guys! About the bokeh : all you need is lots of samples if you use redshift just set the blade count to 6-7, no bokeh image was used on these.
Re: warhammer 40k stuff
perfect thnx for the tip! ill give it a go

Really nice work. Thanks for the Redshift tip.
