Great work! The link to your other images really shows off the high detail, especially in the cockpit. Nice texturing on the plane components as well.

Impressive!
If not a secret, is there some special technique, used for all that cuts, small doors and so on. It seems some of them aren't matching to let's say, expected poly flow, while they are placed around curved areas - so, not easy task to do.
Also, I'd be very interested, could you give your opinion to us, about alternative techniques for achieving such amount of details, like NURBS or something like Modo Mesh Fusion.

Mathaeus, it is just polygons. I used only softimage for modeling. Also I used booleans a lot. Here is a wireframe shot:
