Get's my vote . . . couple of things though, if you don't mind:
Concerns:
- passageway needed a room service cart with detail, (Art direction was lacking)
- smallest keys in the world,
- deepest carpet in the world - but seemed convincing,
- dust mite sneezing sound effect was really really weak
Amazing:
- great transitions between environments (well done)
- Awesome sound design and effects (except the dusmite sneezing)
- Use of camera and framing was insane . . . felt very macro - IMPRESSED
- Awesome particle effects - scaling was just right
- love the natural performance of the parasites - convincing 'world'
- dust mite animation was perfect - alien and heavy . . . 5 stars from me
- detail was off the charts.
- Comp and grade were really great.

Overall . . . my opinion, sell this to CSI series (abc - I think) because this is next level, and they could use the concept originality in their shows I think?
Love your work and seriously well done . . . goodluck, and hope you win. Share a breakdown, and a write up of all your processes for the entire production, it deserves it.

+1 vote. Really liked! Great visuals.

The best is in the credits: "this film was done with the help of minimum 14000 software-crashes !".

Hello,
thank you, guys!

some info: done in XSI/softimage, rendered in Arnold 1280*720, depthchannel in 2560*1440, comp in NUKE
resized to 2560 for Dof with frischluft then down to 1920*1080, longest rendertime 3hours22min/frame,
Camera-animation is one-shot (but fake in the beginning crashzoom(and short disolve) to the key, where i change the set.
In the beginning i start with MR but than i have to switch to Arnold(faster better stable...)
And now the production-time(no kiding)10Years!
Yes, 10years,but not every day, somtimes waiting for a software-update,changing every to Arnold was also a pain(new textures, new Ligthning and so on.)
Animation of the Mite took not so long (maybe 2weeks if i would work 8hours a day)
More info next Year!

SquirrelSa:smallest keys in the world, Your right, i thought i build everything in the right Dimension(damn)see attached picture ;)

origin What does those creatures say at very end of short? bless you(sorry that version is missing the subtitel(will be in the DCP-festival-version)

some sreenshoots
and thanks for voting,thanks Oliver

That's amazing . . . thanks for the screen shots. So you worked all scenes/environments in one set, one camera move with obviously multiple passes? That's insane. It really works though. I was trying to work out how you would have blended the different environments. Well done though.
