Our Feature film done entirely in Softimage

Post by Sandy_S » 20 Sep 2012, 10:40

Our Feature film - Adventures in Zambezia has been released in various countries and is doing pretty well - it was done in a small studio in Cape Town, South Africa - Triggerfish Animation Studios.

Completed entirely in Softimage and rendered with Mental Ray.

This is a small featurette - http://vimeo.com/49767597

Thanks - is this the right area to post this, if not please feel free to move it.

Cheers

Kewl!! B-) Looks great, and with Sam Jackson on board you can't go wrong ;)

I think this will be really good for SI's perception in the industry, also something to point to in the eternal MR sucks debates :P

Would really love to see some making off's...

Fantastic! Great to see some studios other than Disney/Pixar making great stuff for kids. Much needed! Not that I don't like them but just watch it all too many times :) If you have kids you know what I mean.

Adventures in Zambezia is already showing in Israel, Russia, and Germany and it starts showing is South Africa in December. Not sure about the rest.

Great stuff.

Cant wait to see Khumba trailer. Those few screenshots from the site seem like Arnold brings a significant improvement.

It's amazing. Hope this will get Softimage into the right track again with mayor studios.

Specially if all was rendered in mental ray.

Congratulations on the team!!!

looks great, i like the camwork alot. animation is really good.
2 things which could be better. i think the lighting could be more contrasty in some shots and the ao is to strong.

I use Softimage for game development. Is there really anything else?
