CGWolrd Japan has some good videos done with Softimage and ICE.

Here is an example of what has been done with Softimage ICE. "Vol 40 ICE Garden - A New Beginning" is by Nobuhiro Yamazaki. Check out the other volumes (1 to 39) as well. Neat stuff from our Softimage Japanese friends.

My word, that was something. I have no idea how people think this stuff up, is it like.. beautifying experiments with Eric Mootz' addons? Was this SI and ICE all the way?!

I agree!

If you go to his Vimeo page you'll probably recognize some of his other works.

I also just noticed that Rray already posted it in the previous page. :ymblushing:

F1 Titles 2017 VFX shot Breakdown

   https://vimeo.com/232349895
This is a breakdown of the Visual FX Shot we worked on for this Seasons Formulae 1 Title Sequence.

I was the CG Team Lead on the job and did all the rigging and animation while overlooking all the work done by the small but talented team of CG artists we had working on the single shot.

You will see from the breakdown that everything was created in CG with a lot of time painstakingly spent to getting as much of the details we could in the relatively short time we had.

The Shark In The Park

The Shark in the Park visualizes the growth and development process of a special strawberry species called “Parco Pistris” which has been discovered by a Korean scientifical research group KSPRI in 2016. KSPRI commissioned animation-director-collective Polynoid to take their research and create a visualisation that would feature all of the actually pretty stunning facts about the plant and still be entertaining in order to bring the piece not only to a biology focused but wider and younger audience.

If you’re looking for further info, here are all the details: strangeplants.org/parco-pistris
A weird carnivorous strawberry.
Supposed to be a real plant. Wonder if it's a type of strawberry? or just looks like a strawberry?

From Polynoid and DAT ( always original :) )

I'm actually not sure it's SI (?), but I would say probably, or usually when both DAT and Polynoid is involved ... and recognized a few names :)

Just did a Softimage search on Artstation>projects and it usually points directly to projects that have it amongst the 'Software used'.

Here for example Kolby Jukes modeled a char named Drongo for a game called Paragon, responsible for lowpoly highpoly uvs and sculpt. This game is 2016 but, this specific char was introduced in the game in august 29 2017.

And... holly crap, I had no clue one of my favorite spacecrafts has some Softimage in it :x. This is from a teaser (they call it prologue) for Ares 2016 movie where Neil Degrasse Tyson explains the mission and the difficulities in "cosmos space oddysey style". Im not fan of the Movie but i love the centrifuge and the prospect of artificial gravity. Not a small production like 30 ppl mentrioned in credits but the scene setup and put together was done by Artur Szymczak in Softimage and rendered with SItoA. ^:)^

Nice! :)

Love the books, and the show. There's some really nice VFX in there. And good to see trusty old Soft is still used in these places, even for shows this large. :-bd
