Hi,

A Fallen Giant,I try to make something sad but still beautiful in this image.

a big thank to Milan Vasek that developed the 'scather tools' that I use to create the grass, rocks etc...

The giant is indeed sad and the image looks very good. Congrats!

Firstly congratulations with the image, really stunning, glad to see its in soft.
Did you use mental ray? Also do you mind sharing the rendertimes and pc specs perhaps.

Congrats again.

fantastic! overall one of the best pics i've seen lately.
just had a little production involving some grass.
yours looks great in color, but the longer ones in the lower left look strange.
i noticed getting better results by decreasing the bend of the grass. so that it don't look like many XXX...

anyway, congrats!

Hi all,

thanks for the all the comments ! I'm very happy with it !

cnever - yes its mental ray, I got little more then 2 hours to do the main pass together with some passes to the post, specular, normal, reflex, object labels. And then then another 4 hours to make an occlusion pass, I raise the AO rays to 1024 to get a smooth shadow in the grass.

my final image was 3000x1687.

my pc config.
core i77 950 3,07ghz
6 gb ram.
win 64bits.

caledonian_tartan - ''overall one of the best pics I've seen lately.'' thanks for that !!
and thanks for the tips about the longer grass, I think you are right, If I pay attention I can see a little 'pattern'.
well, thanks !

cheers.
