hey guys, this is some random abstract i wanted to share with you, nothing outstanding, inspired by the master Borgmann :)

used polygonizer and some twist deformer with ICE.
again nothin fancy but felt to share.

Looks great!
Small criticism, the DOF could really use some more samples.
It's a still and doesn't appear to be too render intensive, give it a few minutes more to render a proper DOF and make it look flawless.

thanks for comments and critics guys, i'm thinking to remove dof, was kinda a mistake and i dont like it either :)
gonna try more abstract i'll post more results later on. Workin on a sci-fi scene atm!

Nice Maximus, thanks for sharing.

I am trying the strands effect that Tim Borgmann is showing in the first portion of his presentation. It is based on www.monophyl.com website Strands animation and the cheap trick #4. I get results but not the one expected (the strands are not going in between each particles but in between the particles and the sphere!

Have you attempted the effect?

Hey Daniel,
i didnt really look into that, i've just started for fun tryin to replicate some things Borgmann does, but i'm not that ice expert :)
I can take a look, do you have some image to show me about this effect?

oh i understand..well i have a compound for that but..sadly i dont remember who made it since i've changed the name..so credits arent mine. I think it was Helge or someone else, really forgive me i dont remember where i got this! but here it is

create a basic emission from a grid or any poly mesh, create another pointcloud, and in the ice tree create a non simuulated ICE tree, add the compound and plug in the other basic simulation compound to it.
