Floating Paradise
Re: Floating Paradise
A small update Not sure if those hanging roots need to hang straight or not.
Re: Floating Paradise
Most types of roots have smaller branches that come and pierce the ground almost horizontally, and that can explain why roots staying in place.

Re: Floating Paradise
One would expect the roots to be hanging (slightly) more straight down,
but one wouldn't expect a rock to be floating like that, so normal rules probably don't apply...

Re: Floating Paradise
Pretty nice though,
How did you come about distributing them?
are they somehow dynamic or deformed by the geo? or simply duplicated/placed by hand?

Re: Floating Paradise
I couldn't update yesterday. Fought with the strands the entire day. It's not easy controlling the strands, as the experts make it look. I couldn't get the strands behave correctly with the surface force compound at all, would have been nice if it worked. But in the end got close to what I was aiming for.
@ fxdude. Those are Standard Strands using the Generate Strand Trails. I can post the ICE graph but I am ashamed of it as it is too noobish
All suggestions are welcome.
A small update.
Modeled Mushrooms for scattering on the land. I will need to model couple more plants and flower to populate the scene.

Re: Floating Paradise
Hi, sorry I couldn't update in the past few days had to visit the doctor.
Call me crazy but I had to improve the look. So I reshaped the vines and added roots.

Re: Floating Paradise
Hi a small update. I had to resize the objects to play nice with Lagoa simulation.

Re: Floating Paradise
Love watching the iterations. It's going to be great! I can already imagine the water flaying out in a spray through the clouds floating around it, blossoms blowing in the breeze from the tree.
Dunno, it is what it inspires in me!

Re: Floating Paradise
Hi everyone a few updates to the project I have cached all the dynamic strands and simulations and made the scene ready for render. Need to add some leaves on the tree and a few flowers and I was also thinking of putting a peacock amidst the grass on top of the island

Re: Floating Paradise
IMHO the "vines" branching out to the smaller rocks look somewhat misplaced.
If you want to keep them, you might want to consider "weeding them out",
in other words: place less noticeable/less dense vegetation on them.
