Coming along well it seems!

And concerning this ...
as for +1. I tried it on this and it lost too much detail. I have not subdivided yet. want to make sure all the main details in there before that happens.
Keep in mind that detail sharpness with subd's can be more precisely controlled with parallel segment closeness, as opposed to using creases for instance.

So 3 overlapped segments (overlapped on the hull, or the non-subd-ed mesh)
makes a perfectly sharp corner even once subd-ed.

he looks a bit fat, and the bottom of the back might not be right....but I think it's getting there. IT'd be fun if someone could turn this into a full scale 3Dprinted costume.

someone printed the head using a 3D printer. Wow, I think it needs more polygons..

fast tracking things a bit, now that I have my own 3D printer coming. Here is an almost finished set of arms..

So it looks like they printed your unsubdivided head? did you get to send them your new subdivided one before they went along?

For you model, I think the chest needs to be a bit flatter (less bubbly, or less like Shwartzenegger ;] )
and that the detail going around the tummy could be more refined, more circle, more "flowing", or with less wobblyness.

(which I know is intricate work)

Otherwise, Coming along pretty good!

I tried to make the chest flatter...
and modified the detail on the bottom and started the hands.

The shorts and legs are going to be the toughest parts I think

Looks good.
Make sure to create a "rough sketch" of the general shape of the rest of the body first,
before you get caught in too much detail.
That way you'll have a good overview of where "all"of this is "going"
and can easily see what still needs attention.
;)

yep, good idea. that's what I wanted to do before, but finding good HEAD ON shots that show me the basic shape of the object without any weird angles is tough. I've found ones that are close, but not head on.

I need head on shots for the legs, shoes to get their basic shapes down first.
After 3P0 gets finalized, I am doing R2 next, and after that, a Proton Pack. Someone already beat me to the punch though with a 1:1 printed pack.

It looked spot on to me, and useful in the very least.
