When I set the Attribute_Color to StrandColor it is not bend, but when it is set to Color, The blades are bended. I do not understant why tweaking the render_tree changes the shape of the blades?

I tried to reconnect the node bend strands before self strand size and color, as it was connected after, and I have bended blades again but no more color.
:(

I am using Softimage 9.5 64 bit (2011 Subscription Advantage...)

Do you mean texturing individual strands along their length? :-?

The new (V1.1) Randomize around Value compound has a Scalar node in place of V1.0's pass_through node, letting it not accept arrays or vectors as inputs anymore.

Go into the compound and switch all Randomize around Value compound versions back to 1.0, then it should work as usual.

Probably a bug introduced in 2011SAP, since the "Variance" parameter is also named "Value1" in the compound, which is unusal for factory compounds.

Hey I'm having small problem with this :)
Sample scene works perfectly in SI2012. everything as it should be.
But when I try to create my own grid with grass, Create Grass compound is always red.
Am I mising something or?
Again, imported sample scene works fine.
Any ideas?

ugh. mental note, read read read before post.
sorry got it!

unfortunately there is a huge amount of grass needed and ram goes over the roof!
my 8gb is not nearly enough and fur goes a bit under that so I will probably have to settle with fur :(
but thanks!
