Version 1.2:

* "Deform with Strand" ICE compound and "StrandDeformer.vbs" plugin,
to deform geometry with strands without having to plot particles and convert their paths to curves.
Something like the 'Tracer' functionality in C4D.

* "Transform to Strand Segment" ICE compound to help make chain like objects.

Download instructions at
http://www.vimeo.com/groups/ice/videos/7045028
edit: You can download it from si-community directly by using this link (RMB + Save As) - HB

For XSI 7.01 and above.

Install (and replace) the ICE compounds by copying them to the appropriate locations.
Copy the "StrandDeformer.vbs" to the plugins folder. (Installs the menu item Animate > Deform > StrandDeformer)
Drag the included JS script "InPlaceInstance_with_ICE.js" onto a toolbar to make a button,
Select some geometric objects (not a group) and
press the previewsly created button, to make ICE instances in
a pointcloud object.
Then make a null "controller obj", add an Influence compound,
connect it to an Effector compound and just play with the settings.
Included are sample scenes.

This is a "just-for-fun" attempt to emulate something close to C4D MoGraph in ICE.
Hopefully people with add more compounds.
Use it at your own risk.

:-)

You can't upload files of that size...
I, being a moderator and all that, can... :D
I take your last post as permission to do so?

edit: I've edited the first post to include the new download location... ;)

Yes! Thanks.

BTW I chose to put the link in the Vimeo page,
so that people will see how to use the "StrandDeform" compound.

Sorry i forgot to mention,
the objects must oriented across the Y axis,
on the XY plane.

Rotate it 90 degrees clock-wise and freeze its rotation,
before trying to deform it.
