Tan node with radian output
Build Quad node v1.1
Divisor_test node
Exponent converter (used also to sign function)
Grid Description node
Super Formula node v1.1
Units node (used to convert SI unit in real world units: foot, meter, inch, etc.)

Download the files. Create a file directory called surface or geometry on your softimage user/application/data/compound directory or workgroup. Decompress the file and move the various compounds to the new directory. Fire up Softimage. Softimage should detect the new compounds.

Create a empty primitive. Create an ICE tree. Choose a primitive compound and connect it to the ICETree. Adjust the parameters to see the effect. Refer to the Topology thread for more information.

Enjoy!

Thanks Dan!

Just a note: natural number E is also included in Joe's pack so dont be surprised if soft complains about the duplicate :)

Cheers

Your are welcome, have fun with these.

The community was looking for example of topology and new primitives. I hope these will serve the purpose.

If you have a conflict with one of the node in the pack, just remove it from the pack after you uncompress it.

My favorite nodes are:

* The cubes with real world units (useful for bounding box simulation, reference to judge the scale of other objects in a scene, etc),
*The super sphere, torus and super cylinder just to name a few.

Great Stuff!
thank you very much!

how can i "weld boundary edges" in ICE?
is there already something to do that?

Oh thank you!

I agree on the cube unit, it's my favorite already. Is it a strange question to ask how to make this work 'inverse'? As in, set a box to 10x10x10 metres, then switch the units to inches and instead of getting a smaller box it will get the correct measures for the same sized box. I think that would be equally useful in a lot of cases.

The only compound I have found so far is Christian Gotzingers "CG Weld Points"
