AI Cut Geometry by AlphaAuthor: MJD Boukhari @ AI Production
This ICE compound cuts polygon meshes by any stencil image/image alpha which is UV-projected on it. Usage video is available here, coproduced by MJD's friend Nour Almasri. This video by Fabricio Chamon shows how to create a cracked surface using FX Tree painting and the AI Apply Thickness plugin (which is also written by MJD Boukhari).

This compound was introduced by MJD's coworker at AI-Production and si-community user eternal art in the thread linked below.

MJD Boukhari, with your 3 compounds I finally can paint my own crack maps to simulate in momentum:

nice! :-bd
thank you for using my compounds
I liked the idea of drawing stereo.....

I experimented with animated texture map has been successful with me ...
I ask you to put me an example of the situation that you encounter ...
Thank you ...

I have seen your example and known cause of the problem ..
Compounds has limits in the vertical lines that match the texture and 3D Object..
The second limit is that you must increase the Subdivision of 3D Object before apply The Compound to get a better result ...
As for the parameter must be at least a value of 10 ...
But to get the best result should be a value of 100 ....

Excellent Compound ! Works super, super handy :) Thank's lot !
In the "Delete Polygons" sub-compound, I just exposed the "less than equal" second value. It react as a threshold RVB value to delete more or less polygons.

One question : In the "Crack Modeling" video, there is a "Filter Edge By Angle" compound.
Where can I get it ?

Again, Thanks for the great work !

" I'm not getting the same nice results with 2014, anyone has the same problem? "

Installed in softimage 2015 WIN7x64 sp1, started testing -1 times worked (as in the attached video- from the alpha channel of the logo xsi, the geometry was obtained! Further the compound ceased to work correctly, makes geometry, but some kind of squares! tested on other versions of 2013, 2014, the result is the same.

The result is a need for version 2012 SAP - as in the demo video

Who does the compound work correctly, and with which version of the softimage & windows OS ?

The problems were in a falling off texture projection, everything works in softimage 2015
