I was whining about the lack of proper shatter tools in XSI not too long ago. This seems to put all my worries to shame :-bd

This looks great, nassosy!

I have a question:

In real life colissions, things may break up upon coliding, then break up again upon coliding with the resulting pieces of the colission, then again upon coliding with the resulting pieces of that colission, etc etc.

Is this kind of iterative shattering possible with your system?

It would be wonderful if your solution was capable of handling that particular phenomenon, to my eye it's always a sure giveaway of CG as compared to miniature effects.

cheers,
Jasper

Yes, that's the reason i made it.
Just call "Fracture" on the new pieces again,
with a point cloud of your choice to seed the voronoi
and break things to your heart's content ;)

you can even use pre-fractured geometry
styled the way you want it
(if you want to avoid the voronoi cell look)

Very impressive! B-)
Judging from his remark on the Mailing list,
it looks like you even managed to impress your main "competition" (Helge Mathee).

Thanks for the answer, very nice! It's all 2010/11 stuff, I guess, and will not work on 7.01?

Helge Mathee on the Mailing List:
Since I am not progressing so well on the shattering front,
I decided to push more the physics addon.

studioNEST Momentum is nearly out the door, give
it some more days and next week we will all happily
destroy walls and such.
Quoted from here

"studioNEST Momentum" is the addon formerly known as "studioNEST Bullet"
Meanwhile here's the studioNEST Momentum Promo

@nassosy - How far along are you with your shattering plugin?
The folks at studioNEST have pretty much admitted to the "Beta-status"
(read: instability) of their upcoming shattering solution.
Does your plugin run into similar problems?
Would be nice to have some options.
