Hello everyone this is my first post on the forum
I was wondering if anyone could help with the following problem (note: I am very new to softimage ICE but I really want to learn it cos I think it is cool)
I have been watching amazing tutorial by mschoenagel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHwJ1XFrPUE
and my goal is to instance variable objects onto pointclouds, control size of each object type and its distribution.
In the first test I apply two objects: Pistons and Springs onto a Sphere distributed randomly but I can not figure out how to control size of Springs independently from Pistons (on the screenshot the pistons are right size but the springs are so small that I can not see it)
1.Could you tell me how can I pick out the points that Springs have been randomly distributed to and scale them up?
2. In the same way I filter with weight map parts of the sphere that I do not want to be covered with instances,
is it possible to have several weight maps that I could paint over the sphere and tell it where is the distribution of Springs and where Pistons?
3. Can I run two ICE trees in my file at the same time? In the pointcloud I have two ICE trees, the second one is a sphere next to it with just springs instanced but I can only run it correctly when I mute the other ICE tree.
I attach file (softimage 2015) and screenshots in dropbox link:

Would appreciate your help.
Instancing in ICE
Re: Instancing in ICE
2. Yes - replace the Randomize node with a Get->Weightmap. Since a weightmap usually has values from 0.0 to 1.0, you need to map that to the number of objects.
Another way (this is a bit more complicated, but worth it if you have more than 2) is to use a muted Envelope. Check out 2:46 of this video:
