how to read data FROM Render Tree in ICE?
Hello, my friends, i want to ask, is there a way to read the data FROM Render Tree in ICE?
Re: how to read data FROM Render Tree in ICE?
Not possible, and this should be expected behavior, imho. Render tree is able to control data generated by renderer in render time. For example, you can modulate the output of one shading by another, probably typical is multiplying the output of diffuse shader by ambient occlusion, so on.
Some actions can be invoked from render tree, like UV projections, but not at render time, not invoked by renderer.
ICE is doing what is doing, before render time.

yeah, thanks, just as i expected, but you mentioned "Some actions can be invoked from render tree, like UV projections, but not at render time, not invoked by renderer." and thats exactly what i need - this is done simply by drag and dropping ?

I meant, it's possible to apply the new UV projection from render tree, too ( when you're choosing what projection to use, and you choose 'new', something like that) - but this only means that some command can be launched from this interface. Should be possible by script, too.
Let's say, logically, shader editors are related to renderer and data at render time.

A little bit an other thing, but you can read the color information of a texture map...
