freeze ice to geometry

Post by clankill3r » 06 Jun 2013, 14:58

I made a curve circle and a empty pointcloud. I added a sphere on every point position with add point.
Now i would like to freeze it so i can select the spheres. Is this possible?

It is possible ootb via ICE Modelling. Pretty sure there's an example scene included too.

EDIT: Try using Create Copies from Polygon Mesh on empty polymesh. You'll need to create a primitive polymesh representing your instance to use in the ice tree, though. Also connect the pointcloud name.

The video describes what you need to do. Note that the node usually works evern if it is red because you didn't give the materials.

Yes, it is possible out of the box, but is not wrapped up into a tool anywhere.

Here's an interesting discussion that comes up with several solutions.
