Can someone help, i'm really bad in Softimage. Normally i program to create 2d stuff so this is kind of unexplored area for me.
I want to create a anamorphosis on a piece of folded paper.
This is a good example of what a anamorphosis is:
This is how the paper is folded:
Right now i have a camera projection, everything looks ok.
I only need to create the UV map out of it.
I try to use RenderMap but i get "Unspecified failure" which isn't really helping.
Here is the scene:

Here is the image i used for testing, although that shouldn't really matter for now.

Re: Need UV map of projection
On the attachment you can see what i want to see from a certain angle on a folded paper.
In Softimage this is not a problem, but I need to print this in real life.
Therefor i need it to be flat again. This is where i'm stuck.

Re: Need UV map of projection
A workflow that comes up in my mind:
Start with a flat version (grid), duplicate this, fold the duplicate in the shape you want, project from the camera, freeze this projection, use the flat version (shape manager) to deform the duplicate back to original, the texture should now follow the vertices into your desired warped shape.

i've builded a scene for you here http://www.si-community.com/community/v ... 719#p45719
Re: Need UV map of projection
There is also this on http://rray.de/xsi/ (the first (Oleg's) seems to be the latest/most reliable, see list thread which also includes other tricks)
Bake ICE Data Author: Oleg Bliznuk
This script bakes all ICE attributes containing UVs, User Normals and Materials on a mesh to cluster data on a new mesh, ready to be accessed from regular program operations. The UV ICE attribute must be named »self.Texture_projection«. Click here for a demo screenshot.
>> Further down in the mailing list thread; https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... wT8cISbjxs ,
Vincent Ullman suggests a »live« method for UVs that doesn't require a second mesh object.
Bake ICE UVs ScriptAuthor: Fabricio Chamon
Javascript code to bake ICE UVs onto a regular texture projection. Freeze your ice operator without losing object UVs.
