SI2015 "no interactive network license"
After an unrelated system crash and a subsequent Windows system restore I am faced with a somewhat bizarre and dreaded “no interactive network license” error and nothing I've tried so far has been able to fix this. I tried reinstalling, I checked the License.env, which is set to network and the correct server name and my previous Softimage 2014 SP1 still runs as advertised on the newly configured license server with the 2015 license file. Suffice it to say that I'm not amused and that I'd be very grateful to any help that can remedy this situation. What can I do to restore my Softimage 2015 license?

That would be next course of action, but I'm still primarily a forum user... ;)
No internet connection, no firewall BTW.

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
isn't there a firewall in Windows? That often blocks the network socket used by licensing to contact even the local host.

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
But wouldn't that block my Softimage 2014 SP1 as well, which does run on the 2015 license?

What does SoftimageLicense.log say?
What about the FLEXLM_DIAGNOSTICS? (in an si prompt, set that env var to 3 and try to start xsi.exe)

Read'em and weep:
I did run a Maya 2014 and Softimage 2015 in trial mode before system recovery, if that helps clarifying anything.
Thanks in advance if you're able to look at this...

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
Perhaps silly to mantion, but I was kind of stumped too after installing 2015 until I installed the latest version of the flexlm manager. Maybe, after your system restore, it has reverted to the 2014 version?

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
True, you need the latest version of the NLM to run 2015 software.
The relevant part of all that FLEXLM_DIAGNOSTIC output is No socket connection to license server manager.
Note that xsi.exe tries for both Maya and 3ds Max licenses. It has nothing to do with your choice, that is there to support whatever transition choice you do make.
%TEMP%\SoftimageLicense.log is useful to rule out other problems (like .pit or .cas problems).

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
@druitre & @xsisupport – So, basically, it does help to read all the installation instructions...
Reinstalling the license server did indeed do the trick. Thank you both so very, very much!
A well-deserved virtual beer for the both of you and for luceric as well, obviously…

@Hirazi Blue:
How did you generate your 2015 license?
I was used to generate my license files through the website registeronce.autodesk.com, but for some reason that doesn't work anymore, because after login all I get is a blank page. Tried this on different machines with different browsers.
I contacted support but instead of helping me, they asked for my server name and network ID, although I provided this information already. This was 2 weeks ago...

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
Initially I got help from Jill Ramsay (AKA "jill.ramsay") of Autodesk. Maybe you can contact her, she has an account here, so you could send her a private message...

Re: SI2015 "no interactive network license"
Thank you for the tip, but after some rant email Autodesk support was able to send me a working license file finally.
