Error: no interactive license

Post by lorax » 15 Jan 2011, 21:31

Hi.

I have been trying to get Softimage 2011.5 64bit running on my Windows7 64bit system. Each time I am finished installing and want to launch Softimage for the first time to activate it the Application doesnt start and I get the following Error:

Error: there is no interactive license available to run Autodesk Softimage 2011

I have checked the knowledge base and have tried out all sorts of solutions.. none of these worked:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps ... D=12544120
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps ... D=12544120

I read somewhere here on this forum that it helped to install Maya 2011 and after that the Softimage Activation. I have been trying to install it for 3 days now and I would be very happy about any suggestions or ideas as I have tried everything in my range of searching.

I've been working with Softimage for almost 8 years now and I have never experienced anything quite like this.

Standalone or Network License?
If "Standalone": tech notes on standalone licensing.

If "Network": Could it perhaps have something to do with the fact that the default install location for the Network License Manager in Windows 7 is the read-only folder "C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager" as described here?

Just guessing here, I'm afraid... :ymblushing:

You are the same person posting on xsibase (the log shows the same computer name).

Did you delete/rename the _tsf.data and _tsf.data.backup files?

I have been trying to install SP2 for 2015, and I get the same error:
Error: no interactive license available to run Autodesk Softimage 2015
I have tried uninstalling, clearing the registry, deleting all autodesk files, rebooting, reinstalling clean, etc and still get the same issue.

I used to have it working earlier.

The activation panel usually loads up on first load no? Is there another way to put in my liscense? Or to get back to that UI panel to start working in SI again?
