spinning partilce

Post by thorsnuts » 19 Aug 2016, 21:48

Hello,

Is there a way to spin a particle while the Ice tree is in the model stack?

I have an ice tree set to total number of particles and emission type volume is the modeling stack. I tried adding a spin node and nothing worked. Then I tried placing the icetree in the Sim stack but doesn't seem to spin.

just a little snag I ran into. I just dont know if its me, or the simulation?

thanks

It should work in the modeling region just as well. Could it be that the particles are spinning, meaning their orientation attribute changes, but the orientation is not used by what folllows in your tree?

why not building it from scratch from the spin compound ?

you "simply" need to replace the velocity or speed by the time as a variation source

thanks guys... Ill try these out and let you know.

What I actually did to get the job done was create a cluster with center on the instance geo and animated that to get the result I needed.

There's always a work around. :D

thanks again
