Arnold Thumbnails

Post by wireframex » 28 Aug 2016, 22:34

Hi

Is there anyone who find how to have the correct thumbnail for Arnold in the Material Manager (mine is always totaly grey) ?
I use the last Arnold for SI (3.14.0), I check in preferences the correct Shaderball Renderer but it doesn't work ...
Thanks
Phil

correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that never worked. Also SI can be quite flakey when thumbnails and/or shaderballs are turned on and you use a different renderer than MR.

I see.....

As far as I can remember, this didn't work in the beginning when Arnold just came to SI.
I turned most of that stuff off in the material Editor and Rendertree, as SI was very happy to crash when it had to show thumbnails and shaderballs.

So up till today, I just run without them ;-)

I think it's somewhere in the docs, thumbnails don't work in sitoa and its better to disable them because they can cause crashes if you try to use them.
