Guerilla Render, anyone?

Post by Hirazi Blue » 26 Jan 2014, 16:29

Anyone here tried Guerilla Render?

It has a professional (drumroll, wait for it) Maya exporter,
but can apparently handle Alembic files and obj files too.

It sports one "free" license, with the following limitation
the free license is limited to non-concurrent installation and non-concurrent use on one (1) physical computer comprising up to sixteen (16) cores, permanently connected to the Internet.
(My highlight & quoted from here)

And that's exactly why I can't try it myself as my workstation isn't connected to the internet.
;)

Let me unearth this thread, as I am about to connect my “workstation” to the internet for the first time:
does anyone here have any “meaningful” experiences with Guerilla Render they’d be willing to share?

I never used, but I wanted to. I might install Maya to try it.

No need to install Maya AFAIK.
Guerilla handles obj and more importantly Alembic files just fine apparently...

haven't tested it in production but tested it a lot, the renderer it really good an the workflow is perfect, the same philosophy as houdini/clarisse (and a bit of octane) speaking about setting up things then updating your alembic without broking everything

Thanks for the input NNois.

So I could export from Max and set it up on it? Looks interesting.
