get fisheye shader to work

Post by clankill3r » 11 Sep 2013, 22:41

I have readed so much documentation. Maybe i skipped something but i can't get it done.
How can i get the lens shader fisheye to work?

What i do:

1) create a new scene
2) set mental ray as the renderer (my default is redshift and there i can't get it to work neither)
3) open render tree
4) select the camera in the explorer
5) right mouse on the lens shader
6) 'add item'
7) drop a fisheye shader
8) connect it to the lens shader
9) open fisheye ppg
10) set distortion to 1
11) set scale to 10
12) draw a render region
13) yell at my pc
14) try again starting at step 1

I also tried it as a pass shader at the default_pass but this had no effect.

amm i missing a step?

Scale at 10 ??? obviously it's the problem

here a screenshoot and repro steps:
- default scene
- add a cube
- select the camera
- open the render tree
- right clic lens shaders "add item"
- connect fisheye Distortion&Scale default 1 / 1
- draw a render region

I did scale at 10 cause i had no result.
I did your steps and again no result. What are the values you use?
Could you upload your scene?

All you need is a cube and the default shader settings.
But if you're zoomed out too far it may appear that nothing is happening.

It's the render i use. If i switch to mental ray the fisheye works again.
