Hi there!
Here is a first look at the scene I´m going to use in my little workflow walkthrough. I´ll setup the lighting to get this result. Starting point will be a scene that was used for some lighting challenges. It was tided up for usage in SI by Rob (thanks man..!). I´ve done also some changes. I´ll provide this scene here for download, so that you guys can do your setup on your own. Stay tuned..!

Thanks guys!
By the way, here is the link to the V-Ray for Softimage docs. There you can find a lot of info concerning shaders and other features. The GI methods are explained as well. Just have a look!

Re: V-Ray for Softimage: Tutorials and Walkthrough
Really nice tutorial. Thanks.
Just want to ask 2 things.
One is about the render region. I really love that that feature is working, but sometimes it looks like it freezes and takes 30 min to render an image that would take 1 minute, and I have to restart softimage for it to work again. Does it happen to you too?
The other question is about the setting you choose in the color mapping. Why did you chose HSV and changed the gama to 2,2 and then activated the linear workflow. I understand the basics of linear workflow and always worked in linear in XSI and 3DMax (with Vray). What you did was gama correcting the image in the output? If you saved an image (openexr in 32bits) with that settings would it be linear?

Re: V-Ray for Softimage: Tutorials and Walkthrough
Does anyone know whether the VraySphereFade option is available for Softimage?

So you can limit your raytracing to only reflective objects. ( Excellent raytracer but to slow for doing character animation.)
