Recent Psyop commercial containing some shot done with Arnold, mostly close up and inside carpet thread shots:

http://vimeo.com/17615197

older one from the boys at Digic Pictures:

Done almost completely with Arnold, some stuff was done with FumeFX if I recall correctly.

Interview with Rob Bredow and some info on "Cloudy" and Arnold, and additional links to several other movies that used Arnold for rendering:

For the people who missed this one..

Some stunning work from Thomas Mansencal aka Kel Solaar with a excellent walkthrough how he did it can be found here:
http://www.cgfeedback.com/cgfeedback/sh ... .php?t=900

Multiple 3D apps to create the geometry and scenes, but Arnold was used for rendering.

One question concerning Arnold of the hopefully non-NDA variety:
Arnold is a production proven renderer and is in use at Sony. Meanwhile SolidAngle develops Arnold into a commercial product. Are these two separate "forks" (to use a term from software development/the "open source" community) of development? In other words: is there a Sony-branch and a SolidAngle-branch or are they one and the same?

edit - come to think of it: might not be a non-NDA kinda question after all... :ymblushing:

@origin - it is meant to hurt!!! :ymdevil:
No, seriously, I changed this in subsilver2 (but not in subsilver_black) more than six months ago
(see this thread).
The original color used for links wasn't really usable as it didn't differ too much from the normal text, thus not highlighting the link at all. The new shockingly orange color only serves one purpose: to highlight the fact that a link is a link (is a link is a link is a link...)
;)

Yes, Thomas aka Kel Solaar is a gifted artist.

He's also the one who gave us the sIBLGUI application :ymparty:

All the info you need about sIBLGUI and more:
http://www.hdrlabs.com/sibl/framework.html

I cannot say anything about a public release, as I don't know ;)
We all just have to have patience, but at least we can choose multiple production proven render engines in the near future, like Max and Maya could for some time now.

The "Naruto Tribute" is impressive. "Kel Solaar's" work (online portfolio) seems to be of very high quality, regardless of the renderer used, however...
