Re: Netview - legacy scripts / tools

Re: Kristinka Hair and Arnold ?

Here's a "long-shot": post your question here.
Stephen Blair was the number one support guy of Softimage and later Arnold (I don't know if he still is) and has always been extremely friendly/helpful, assuming he still visits his own blog occasionally...

Re: YouTube: The Complicated Story of Softimage

Meh, nice try and thus commendable, but not really worth it in the end, I'm afraid...
Tragically a good documentary about the rise and fall of Softimage is still missing...

Don't give up so easily... It might take some time to get to a satisfying answer, especially on a nearly dead forum like this one! ^#(^
I have no access to (and thus experience with) Arnold myself...

Some of us are still around, although I must admit it's been a while since I've actually used Softimage...
But answering questions is a good way to rekindle the flame! :-bd

Re: Maxon Acquires Pixologic

"the future (...) seems brighter than ever" in Pixologics statement reminds me of the famous words of "our" Chinny concerning Softimage, claiming it's future was bright as well... x_x

I cannot reproduce this,
i.e. here a tif-file does show in "textured" and "textured decal" modes in the viewport & in the "texture editor" window...
Have you tried the obvious fixes, like runonce.bat & resetting your user preferences?

Re: How to get a license these days?

I just found out, that contrary to all official announcements the website registeronce still works.
So if you have a network license you could try generating a new license file there. If you are on a standalone license this sadly won't help/work...

Re: Cycles for Softimage

Sadly that won't be an option as that would inevitably break other important software...
You don't have a version handy without the built-in dependencies?
