Re: Instance On Curve
Hi Julien, back once more :) with a question (I hope you still visit this forum...): can your addon also work without creating subcurves/pointclouds first? I have a curve that is extracted from a series of polyislands, so when i run 'instance on curve', I get a whole bunch of subcurves with a pointc...

Re: Merge pointclouds?
Hi guys, longtime bump: I am so curious about IamVFX's answer concerning transferring attributes (the link is dead) - add points works allright for merging pointclouds but that doesn't give attributes. Can anybody explain how to use 'buid array from set' to do this?

Re: Deadline and 2015 SP2
Fixed it, problem was the 'Abort On Error' setting in Deadline SI plugin is much less forgiving than Soft itself. Anytime anything in a scene (or at startup) causes Soft to log an error it'll stop Deadline. I disabled it and now all works fine.

Re: Deadline and 2015 SP2
Hi NNois, I'm testing on a single machine so no network involved (with the license free mode). As far as I can tell, I set all paths in deadline to SP2 (in the plugin settings and in Monitor). Slave starts up as Running/Idle. All good. In Monitor Job window, I can see the job is Starting Up, Queued,...

Deadline and 2015 SP2
Quick question: does anyone have Deadline/Softimage 2015 SP2/Windows10 combination successfully running? I can't get it to work (using the License Free mode); submitting jobs from other software (After Effects, Clarisse) works fine but SI not. No matter what I try so far. I'd like to have confirmati...

Re: Landscape and forest
Thanks people! Daniel: yes, I still intend to do what I originally modeled the characters for (a 5 minute short, which in itself is a spinoff to a 10 min short I also still want to finish) - but this opportunity came along and I figured I could do it in one or two months.

Re: Landscape and forest
Hi, I did this music video over the last six weeks - borrowing heavily from all the stuff in this thread - which in this case is okay since the musician responsible for the song is the same guy who is slated as the composer for the short this thread is all about. Hope you like it! [media]https://vim...

Re: What are your thoughts about Houdini?
Hi Oli, good idea this thread. I'll add my thoughts even though I don't think they're very useful (not enough experience yet), but let's combine the wisdom of the masses eh? :) Do you have experience with Houdini? I bought an Indie license last year and did some R&D for a month or two How deep i...

Nice find, mcAxe. I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSD_nISLolY . (The link is part of a series of tutorials on Youtube by the creator.) I really recommend anyone wanting to try this out to watch this. The software is very reliant on the keyboard shortcuts shown here - and believe i...
