In your ICETree, you can increase the simulation steps.

Re: NVIDIA® OptiX™ AI-Accelerated Denoiser

There is a Nvidia Video, where the AI changes the scene from day to night/winter:

Soon the AI will have a roll in so many tasks - great and a bit spooky. :D

Re: Megascans for SI

A quick update on the conversation with Quixel: Our Engineering team confirmed that this was in the pipeline but wasn't eventually implemented. We are working on a newer version of the Bridge. As soon as it enters its beta stage we will add this to its pipeline as well. So, hopefully we will get a B...

Re: Megascans for SI

Due to the compression, jpeg's for alpha's might not be the best solution for creating geo ;) For some stuff I did it manually, deleting geometry that wasn't needed and splitting the rest up in separate parts. But automating things like this is always preferable :) Yea, I normaly use tiff mostly - ...

Re: Megascans for SI

ahh okay, I have that one, also. Its from the same AI guys. :) Somehow it never worked or crashed and I always used the weight map compound. Will try that again. :D I just found out the problem with the opacity map. There is alot of grey stuff that gives me the artefacts - but shouldn happen I think...

Re: Megascans for SI

Wasn't there an ICE compound that uses a B/W image to cut geo directly? And there's a similar workflow for Houdini as well, cannot seem to find the video atm though..... But I agree the leaves/grass stuff is a bit tedious to work with. It would be nice to have some geometry available when downloadi...

Re: Megascans for SI

I guess you know that, but since I had to cut all the little parts of the moss, I used these technique to cut them in a quick way :)
Maybe someone can need that. The compound (by AI Production) is found in the SI Ressources.

Re: Megascans for SI

Hey Rob :) yes, the materials and models are fantastic. Just searching the library for some Tundra/Alaska foliage/debris/ground and mix stuff together in the Quixel mixer, thats very cool. One thing I dont understand yet: the free example "moss", the alpha absolutly doesnt work for me out ...

Megascans for SI

Hey all, I wonder, if anyone here is using Quixels Megascan. Bought myself a freelancer subscription and just playing around with the Quixel Mixer. These .pdf says, there is an integration to Softimage - but actually, I dont find that and more strage, bridge is not loading: https://quixel.se/megasca...

Re: Grid deform by curve and interpolate between outer curves

One more thing that I love to support since its very artist related is Patreon btw. I am lateley using these service to some artists, podcasts, etc - feels very personal and its a nice meeting point for likeminded. Combined with something like Discord to chat about the work let me as a freelancer fe...

Re: Grid deform by curve and interpolate between outer curves

Hey Pooby, thx for the info and good to hear from you! :) Some of these big companies use all methods to get you back paying, at least a chance to save the videos would be fair. But I am not in that thinking of the ecosystem of money, will never understand that, not my world! Is there a way to suppo...

Re: Grid deform by curve and interpolate between outer curves

Interesting stuff thanks for posting :-bd And the production quality is more than ok imho, especially considering constraints that come along with a real TV production. There seems to be a chance of restoring deleted videos on vimeo, just in case: https://vimeo.com/forums/help/topic:130991 If there...

Re: Grid deform by curve and interpolate between outer curves

Oh an one more off topic :D Thats a Redshift test with volumetric VDB clouds to get some nice lighting/shadows: https://youtu.be/xJBDatIZ01Y The floor when the glacier is gone is shitty, but I like the light. The "stuttering" is becouse I rendered only every 5th frame to have a fast result...
