Re: Female Bust
Yes of course, I apologize. For the eyelashes I extracted a curve from my base head mesh and deformed a nurbs surface along it. Duplicated it two times and moved them forward. Using the Cross Sections option with Kristinka, I set the first as the emitter, the second as the mid section and the third ...

Re: Female Bust
Thanks Mathaeus, I have a hair project I need to work on today. So I will try it out. Thanks for taking the time to patch that node up for 2011. Shushens, I sent you over some information. Hope it helps. Just ask if you have any more questions. I started another personal project that I hope to put s...

Re: Female Bust
Thanks for the feedback Hirazi. I have never heard of Melena before. I googled and found the site, but did not see any examples. So I don’t know what it is capable of. Anto! Thank you again for these tools! I love them! I can now see how each hairstyle can be broken down using your tools, and slowly...

Re: Female Bust
Hey Hirazi, this is ICE hair, rendered with the PHair shader. I may try a ponytail and see how it looks. Thanks for the suggestion. As far as my workflow goes. I posed and model I alredy have rigged and extracted the head for sculpting. I used Decimation master for this project since I am not animat...

Re: Female Bust
Thanks Hirazi. I am glad the style is coming through in a good way. I know how easy it is to make the wrong turn towards uncanny. I will put together some screens and stuff tomorrow, ximage. For now I have my second hair attempt. I think I am making good results on my third attempt. http://www.chris...

Female Bust
The head sculpt by Big Guns, over at zbrush central made me try again at getting realistic results with skin in mental ray. I am still tweaking the eyebrows and lashes. And I am still working on the hair. I dont think I will have time to complete a shirt or anything like that. I wanted to also give ...

Re: Kristinka Hair Tests
Thanks for getting back to me on that. I just spent the last 48 hours trying to pin down a problem I am having. I am getting crashing during render time in 2011. I think I have it narrowed down to a combination Kristinka, SSS, and Final Gather. I can have SSS and Kristinka in the scene without probl...

Re: Skin Shader Workshop
I was lazy on my first post and did not paint a spec map. So, I painted one quickly to show the difference. I color adjusted my maps in XSI so he is not so pink, also had a little fun with the Overall Color slot. I would like to try the new MR SSS again, but the Eman shader is so perfect it feels li...

I had a few hours last night and thought I would give a try. I have been using Eman's shader, which works for me in 2010 and 2011. I also tried the Mental Ray Phen_D shader this morning. Just plugging in my maps and copied the settings from Eman's shader. I am having problems getting my vector displ...

Re: Kristinka Hair Tests
Hey rray, can you please share more information about linking the strand size to camera distance? How to go about that? The hair I have looks great until I pull the camera back, then it gets thicker. Thanks!

Re: wom_archlight by wombat778
I was noticing that when using any SSS shader, my light intensity needs to be turned down to .001. Or lower if I could go lower. Everything is correct scale etc. I don't know much about physical accurate lights, so I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. Thanks.
