Re: Can Ice produce MeshFusion?
thats amazing.. do you know if the resulting topology is clean? The result is actually a pretty dense (yet very clean) mesh http://i57.tinypic.com/21jzss8.jpg Looks like a volume-generated mesh to me. I believe the Gigaboolean compound was the Carve CSG library wrapped in an ICE node. Less known fa...

Re: Open SubDivision in Blender
this is a programming topic.. so I can tell you that YES opengl version has a huge impact on performance. The version itself is not. It's just a number that correspond to certain specification. It's some of its functions which can affect the performance. AFAIK they replaced immediate mode mesh draw...

Re: Open SubDivision in Blender
Great, but one thing I can't understand here. How on the earth they got this open subdiv thing to work on Blender Open Gl 1.0. Or, OpenGl and OpenSubd versions are not related, or what. Many people have misconception that OpenGL specification version might impact on performance. It's not. At least ...

Re: WHAT?! Facebook to acquire Oculus VR
Saying that, there was nothing that forced the people who were developing this to sell, or to sell to FB for that matter, they could have waited, they could have said no, they could have said never. So before you heap all the blame on FB/Google/MS or yes even AD, remember that the people who owned ...

http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/21cy9n/the_future_of_vr/ People are really mad. It's like that day when Softimage has been sold to Autodesk, everybody knew it was the end, just a matter of time. I like being in the community of people who value openness more than a progress of big corporati...

Ahhhh. I wondered what all this was leading to. =)) Yeah, all I wanted is to sell you my website! And OpenCL! Buying it from my site you'll get discount 10% off! Serious though, now I convinced that Fabric Engine guys can't add such functionality to KL not because they don't want, but because of a ...

I was asked to comment in this thread as you had incorrectly asserted that we couldn't do what we have actually, successfully done. If success means implicit memory management with CUDA6 - yes, you have succeeded. But there people out there who can see inability to speak to the hardware at a low le...
