Re: Cinema 4D Bodypaint reborn
It's a start, wish they'd done this a long time ago though, it could have been a very attractive USP. Now with mari, zbrush, 3dcoat the marketplace is a little more crowded.

Re: custom parameter problems in 2015 R2 SP2
Thanks Hirazi, that might make fixing cpsets already created a bit easier.
Still, I'd really like to know: Where did these two new fields come from, and is there a way to revert the behaviour back to something pre-2015?

Re: custom parameter problems in 2015 R2 SP2
Thanks for trying it out. Looks like if you fill in all three fields when creating the custom parameter it will work, but if you try to edit the parameter definition and replace the other two fields afterwards it doesn't like it. I just don't know why these 2 extra fields have appeared in this versi...

custom parameter problems in 2015 R2 SP2
Hi chaps, I'm having major difficulties with custom parameter creation in 2015 - it adds a couple of extra entries which didn't appear in any previous version, and they cause issues connecting to the parameters via ice trees. http://www.matinai.com/si/parameter_definition.jpg When I create a new cus...

Re: The free rig thread
The gear guide doesn't have symmetry, rather you place the guide correctly on one side, then duplicate symmetry using the gear>character>guide tools ppg.
What problem do you have with the hand/finger placement?

Re: Looking for feedback on animation
It works better from the side than from the front. It might be easier to crit if you could capture it with a side and front view, rather than the rotation? Feels like there isn't enough lateral movement in the hips, and the trunk feels too stiff, but the head is moving too much - when you run the sp...

Re: Redshift - pre-purchase questions
I still use the mental ray toon shader - yes you can fake some stuff in RS but its much easier to revert back to MR just for the jobs that require toon stuff. They're making a lot of progress with volumes in RS but it will still take a while to get to the level of flexibility/functionality that MR h...

Re: continued Redshift support?
Sure you've already tried it but did you have the latest nvidia drivers with W10? I'd heard they'd solved the issues with 10 but looks like I'll stick with 7 for a while longer. My OCD is kicking off big time looking at that screenshot btw! Here's my redshift rig (1 titan X, 2 titans) http://matinai...

Re: continued Redshift support?
Short answer, yes
Longer term, the licence isn't limited to the plugin, so if you change to another DCC any time soon you can just install the plugin for that package.

Re: What are you working on?
Actually been quite busy with softimage still... this year could see a switch though, will wait to see if the work stays out there. Waiting for Maya to finish its major changes before jumping in. Just finished rigging 10 cartoony chickens, and 2 different sets of kids. Now working on a short film fo...
